Aunty Marialani's "Go Cook 'em!" Hawaiian style cookbook
Here's another unorthodox post but it's a subject very dear to me, local Hawaiian food.
I dislike email forwards since it's usually some lame inspirational message or joke but this one was a gem. Attached to the email was an interesting cookbook with an awesome title, "Aunty Marialani's Go Cook 'em!".

Most readers from Hawaii will recognize the name but for those of you who don't, here's the video clip from where the title comes.
Here's an excerpt from the book:
Aunty Marialani was probably the best comedy skit from the late “Rap” Reiplinger. James Kawika Piimauna Reiplinger (July 16, 1950 - January 19, 1984) attended Punahou School. In 1974 he helped create the comedy ensemble Booga Booga with James Grant Benton and Ed Ka'ahea. He discovered comedy via such influential artists as Red Skelton, Sid Caesar and Ernie Kovacs, among others. His imaginative TV specials, commercials, and comedy recordings of the late '70s (1978's “Poi Dog”, plus the 1979 pair “Do I Dare Disturb the Universe” and “Crab Dreams”) have resulted in several catch phrases still used in Hawaii to this day, among them "Russell, you get pen?," "How come I come, I stay you go?," and perhaps his best-known one, "Not too sweet, not too rancid, but just right!" His humor is an integral part of Hawaii today. In 1982 he received an Emmy Award and bronze medal from the International Film and Television Festival of New York for "Most Outstanding Television Production" for his TV special "Rap's Hawaii", which he wrote and starred in. He is sorely missed.

I was able to locate the book author (actually he found me) and he asked that the book be removed from this post.
